A short note from the Chairperson;

The three category system is a system that is developed over years and approved at the World Cup. The step; to apply this system at all IPC Races is very important for the future of alpine skiing for the athletes with a disability, but on the other hand, it is a very challenging step.

It will be a major point for the alpine family, to improve and develop this system further. To become a fair system for all athletes it will be important that the characters (measurements), the course settings and the preparations of the slopes improve too.

The intensification of the cooperation and progress of the approach to the FIS (International Ski Federation) and the support of the Paralympic Games in Torino 2006 will be further important points of our work.

Alpine Skiing has at the moment over 40 races all over the world. To coordinate, organise and guaranty the quality of these races will be a very important point in the future. To realise this goal we have to focus our next goal; to employ an alpine coordinator on a part time base.

The alpine committee is a very strong committee, with competent people; it will be a challenge to bring all of us in one direction and to improve alpine skiing all over the world. If we reach this, however, Alpine Skiing can develop enormously.

Thanks for your support.
